Stéphane joined Franks & Co. in 2008, after working for a firm of patent & trademark attorneys in the United Kingdom and a firm of patent & trademark attorneys in Dublin, Ireland.
Technical
Self-taught in the fields of Software, Hardware and Information and Communications Technologies, Stéphane has managed several ICT database projects for engineering and services firms in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe, in addition to developing mechanical engineering skills in previous professional appointments.
Professional
Stéphane is a representative before the UK Patent Office, UK Trade Marks Registry, UK Designs Registry, the Community Trade Marks and Designs Office (OHIM) and the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO).
Stéphane’s specialist practice area is computer software, including in particular digital image processing systems, and chip-level telecommunications systems, with substantial experience in CDMA systems.
Having worked directly with Fortune 500 US corporations as well as European small to medium sized enterprise, in the context of prosecution, litigation and portfolio management, Stéphane has a wide ranging background, and his work encompasses the whole range of national and European intellectual property rights and dealings in those, including identifying intellectual property rights, filing and prosecuting applications for patents, trade marks and registered designs, advising about unregistered design rights and copyright, identifying possible infringement situations and advising in relation to same, and infringement litigation support.
