Hiren joined Franks & Co 2008 having completed his Certificate in Intellectual Property Law at Brunel University.
Qualifications
Hiren obtained a MChem Chemistry degree at the University of Leeds. In his final year, he obtained a 1st class mark for his research project, which involved the synthesis of a novel sugar found on the outercell wall of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
Commercial and Technical
In 2006, Hiren carried out a three month research project synthesising unnatural amino acids, which was funded by the Wellcome Trust. After leaving University, Hiren worked for Inform Life Sciences, producing conferences for the Medical Device sector. Following this, he worked for a leading open access science publishing house.

Hiren’s main work is in the field of patent filing and prosecution, particularly in the fields of mechanical engineering, organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry.
